The “State of Sales Hiring†survey published today by Sciolytix and SellingPower® revealed that on average companies need 100 applicants to fill 3 open sales positions.
The survey, which captured perspectives from sales hiring managers, sales recruiters, and applicants also uncovered several challenges and disconnects between sales hiring managers and recruiters, as well as current benchmarks and best practices related to the sales hiring process.
For example, the great resignation has hit sales organizations hard, and they struggle to fill positions in a timely manner. That problem will get worse as the survey revealed a whopping 94% of sales reps are wither actively seeking or open to the right opportunity. Sales leaders face pressure to hire fast but also hire well, but over 60% are not satisfied with the sales hiring process and quality of candidates.
“Sales is the lifeblood of business. Although there have been many advances in sales and marketing automation, B2B sales success still depends heavily on people. Nothing will doom a sales leader faster than open territories, neglected accounts, bad hires and poor onboarding.†According to Dario Priolo, CMO of Sciolytix and the author of the study. “We believe the results of this survey will help sales leaders, sales hiring managers and sales recruiters improve alignment and impact.â€
